A little about Bear Valley Miniature Horse Farm Thank you for stopping by
Our interest in the Miniature Horses began with the purchase of a weanling colt back in 1991 and the purchase of a bred mare in 1992. At the present time they number 14, although I do try to keep my herd small so I can manage them better. I hate to part with any of them but I do sell a couple each year to good homes. Prior to the Miniature Horses coming to our farm we have always had riding horses around. My favorite is the Arabian and there was usually a Quarter Horse or 2 around also. We took a few trips out west with our horses and would camp at the horse camps. Any horse has always been a special animal to me. There is just a connection with them that is almost unexplainable. Some of our farming is done with the 4 Belgian Draft Horses also. They do all the seeding, dragging, raking some of the hay, hauling manure and what ever odd jobs we can find for them to do. Once in a while they are hitched up to the buggy and we go out for a relaxing tour of the neighborhood. We have a small herd of Black Angus cattle too so we are fairly diversified. And of course no farm is complete without the family dog and a couple of cats around. Most of the hay that our animals consume is grown on our farm which I appreciate as we know the quality and conditions under which is was put up. Enjoy looking around the web site and feel free to ask questions if any come up. Betty
